Path of Miracles by Joby Talbot - Saturday March 23rd 2024
St Mary's Cathedral, Palmerston Place, Edinburgh
Path of Miracles by British composer Joby Talbot is an ethereal choral journey following the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. The Edinburgh Singers first performed one of its movements, Santiago, back in 2018 and are excited to be performing the work in its entirety in 2024. Written in 2005 following a commission from the vocal chamber group, Tenebrae, this a capella work contains a libretto that spans Greek, Latin, Basque, Spanish and French as it takes the listener along the path of this ancient route. Secure your tickets now and prepare to be swept away by the polyphonic harmonies of Talbot’s tour de force.
Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle - Saturday June 15th 2024
St Mary's Cathedral, Palmerston Place, Edinburgh
Experience the sublime beauty of Rossini's "little solemn mass", a masterful choral work that blends solemnity and grace with operatic flair. Composed late in Rossini's career, this popular choral work surprises with its delicate melodies and intricate harmonies. Accompanied by piano and harmonium in the sublime acoustic of St Mary’s Cathedral, this will be a captivating performance to conclude our 2023/24 season.
